WHERE: Online

Join Filmmaker Gregory S. Cooke for a screening of Invisible Warriors: African American Women in World War II, the illuminating story of 600,000 Black women who flee lives as domestics and sharecroppers to work in industry and government offices for the first time. Along the way, they triumph over racism and sexism and open doors of opportunity for all future generation of Black women.

Our special guest, Elizabeth Helm-Frazier (MSgt Ret) discussed her role in bringing the 6888th Central Postal Battalion to the world. During World War II the “Six Triple-Eight” was a pioneering battalion of African American women who serve in England and France to sort mail for millions of GIs in the ETO. Helm’s energy and initiatives have resulted in the unit receiving the Congressional Gold Medal and a movie directed by Tyler Perry.
